Let him eat cake!

Fondant, buttercream, ganache, custard, whipped cream, royal icing, marzipan… The list goes on and on when it comes to your choice of wedding cake and what’s to go on and inside of it.  Then there’s the theme, the color, the shape. Who knew something as fabulous as cake could be such a difficult decision? Whether it’s elaborate or simple, the wedding cake is another representation of a traditional wedding day, and, let’s face it: Most of these decisions are made by the bride.

Sometimes the groom’s taste can get lost in translation, and he deserves to be represented! This post was inspired while meeting with new clients, a lovely bride and groom, who were talking about wedding cakes, and an idea they had for a custom topper (to be addressed in a future post!) To broaden the spectrum of this idea, I mentioned the idea of a groom’s cake, and was thrilled to see their faces when they thought about it! To my surprise, they had never heard of such a thing, and were excited by the prospect of it. Here are some fantastic cakes that represent many grooms’ faves, from beverages to sports, from hobbies to foods and condiments. Lucky grooms!
