Holiday Love
Can you feel it? The crisp air of the holidays is upon us. It’s not yet Thanksgiving (9 days left… have you started cooking?), and stores and streets and houses are already decorated for Christmas, Hanukkah, and Kwanzaa. There are usually two categories of people when it comes to this: Love it, or hate it. I’m one of the “love it” people. While Thanksgiving is by far my favorite holiday, when I see the lights and trees and wreaths and ribbons and ornaments come out, my heart gets that familiar flutter, year after year. Just yesterday, I bought some fun, oversized ornaments that will be displayed randomly throughout my house this year, and for years to come. How about you? Do you love it, or hate it?
The holidays are about love and friendship and family and togetherness, and for many, this is the perfect time to say “I do”, and start new traditions. Holiday weddings aren’t just about snowflakes and flocked trees and sled centerpieces anymore. Here are some chic and modern ideas for a fun and festive wedding, no matter what holiday(s) you celebrate!

Different bridesmaids, different bodies…
Being asked to be a bridesmaid is an honor! It’s a special day for your wonderful friend/sister/cousin/etc., and the bride is excited to have you be a part of it! But that excitement can sometimes be muted when it’s time for bridesmaid dress shopping.
While that form fitting sweetheart strapless may catch your eye and fit your vision perfectly, it may not please all of your bridesmaids. Your bridesmaids are there for you, they want to help in whatever way they can, but it’s also important for them to feel beautiful, and that means accenting their best features and helping to disguise the ones they may not be so happy with!
Admittedly, all but one of my bridesmaids had the same dresses (the Maid of Honor was 7 months pregnant), but we were lucky to find a style that really did flatter everyone’s figure. It’s certainly possible, but it’s not the only option. Look for a dress that comes in the same color, but a few different body styles, or go bold and find a few complementary colors and styles to mix and match!
As the bride, no one can outshine your beauty on your big day, but remember that the fabulous ladies you’ve asked to stand with you are all beautiful in their own ways, and they deserve to be radiant and feel their best!
